The two-and-a half-day Global Meeting of the Mountain Partnership is held every four years and is hosted by a different Mountain Partnership member country. The Mountain Partnership is a United Nations voluntary alliance of sixty mountain countries and over 400 intergovernmental organizations and NGO’s dedicated to improving the lives of mountain peoples and protecting mountain environments around the world.

The Sixth Global Meeting of the Mountain Partnership will be held September 26-29, 2022 in Aspen, Colorado. Plenary sessions, break-outs, side events and exhibits will be held at the Doerr- Hosier Center at the Aspen Meadows Resort (845 Meadows Rd, Aspen, CO 81611). Delegates also have the option of registering for a post-meeting excursion(s) in the Aspen area.

The Sixth Global Meeting of the Mountain Partnership is open to member delegate(s).

A limited number of seats will be made available by the event organizer to the observers from the general public, members of the press and students. Each member entity is invited to send one delegate. 

During the meeting, members will work to establish the Mountain Partnership agenda and high-level advocacy goals for the next four years. US policy makers, outdoor industry representatives and others who are interested in protecting mountain environments are invited to join the Mountain Partnership and participate in the meeting. The press, sponsors who have not elected to join and regional officials will be invited to participate in side-events.

The estimated out-of-pocket cost for a Mountain Partnership delegate to attend (in US dollars, excluding travel) is as follows:

The meeting day rate and travel will be covered for one delegate from each member organization.

Participation in the Sixth Global Meeting of the Mountain Partnership should be confirmed by March 7, 2022 or as soon as possible after that date.

It is our hope that Mountain Partnership delegates will attend the full meeting and consider signing up for the Aspen or Telluride excursion(s) during registration.

Unfortunately, the Telluride excursion has been cancelled.

We ask that you decide whether or not you plan to sign up for the excursion to Telluride, Colorado by March 7, 2022, or as soon as possible after that date. 

The Telluride Institute will host up to 50 delegates immediately after the Aspen meeting on Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1 (arrive Sept 30, depart the morning of Oct2).  Delegates will be introduced to the Telluride Institute's global sustainability initiatives and Colorado's Ute indigenous culture.

The cost for lodging, meals and airport transfers for the two-day Telluride excursion is $500 US and must be paid in advance. Learn more here.

After you have completed the online registration form, the Mountain Partnership Secretariat will review your registration. Once approved, you will receive a registration confirmation email. Meeting co-host, AIMF, will send you regular Global Meeting updates via email. After you are registered, please address questions to the event team at [email protected].

Blocks of hotel rooms have been reserved at group rates for members, speakers and others, including 98 rooms "on campus" at the Aspen Meadows Resort. The changing aspen leaves peak at this time of year, so it is important to beat the crowds and reserve your lodging well in advance. The event team will send instructions to members and others who have registered with links to special group pricing at various hotels. The event management team will assist with your registration.

To make this gathering as safe as possible, all attendees — including members, sponsors, staff, speakers and the public — will be required to show proof of COVID vaccination status. Aspen staff and vendors working the event will be covered by the same requirements.

All delegates will be tested for Covid during the meeting.
